Tim Tackett,
Could you please speak a little about the NO INCH PUNCH? I'm very interested.
Thank you.
PS-Anybody else have some input?

It's no big deal. It's just a way to show how to use your hip when you punch with the straight lead punch. You do it by placing your palm flat on your partner's chest.

I tend to start it like a 3" or 1" punch just with my hand already against the object (person+pad like a focus mit or a book) on my first knuckle, then rolling the hand to the 4th knuckle as the power unloads. (For the record I still do standard punches with a forward snap of my hand and hit with the first two knuckes, not the last three)
The real big deal about all three types is to NOT PUSH put to impact still with all your body weight and force behind it. Many people tend to bend the arm too much as they apply forward body motion then try to shove the target with their arm still. You can't get all your mass into it then.
Don't get too hung up on these though, they are only tools of opportinity. Sure they are fun to show your buddies, but odds are you could have had a much better elbow or kick at the knees while your trying to set up or wait for these openings.
Just like with a lot of the trapping, they really happen in the split seconds of an "OH CRAP" moments when there is a slight pause or friction in the flow of the fight.

I forget to mention that you also have to have your arm straight with no bend at the elbow.

It's not meant to actually hit anyone with, but to show how to use your hip.

If your arm is straight out like that, it's too easy to break.
