Just wondering your thoughts on how a top JKD fighter would fair up against a Fedor Elimenko or a Mirko Crocrop.

While style does play an important role, does'nt it truly come down to the individual fighter?
I mean this is'nt dundeons and dragons where the role of the dice decides the outcome.
When it comes down to it is'nt speed the most inportant factor?
How fast your fist can strike your opponents chin once the opening is seen. Or how fast you feel the arm weakening allowing an arm bar. When does your oppponent stumble off balace creating an opening or forget to keep his hands up to protect.
How fast can you attack or capitalize?

Capitalize on what watch the video and see ring craft and a bigger man against a smarter fighter. How fast your hand strike the opponent, so what is the opponent doing in the video, avoiding, setting up, and his chin is nowhere as easy to nail.

Not a change for an armbar, footwork made the bigger guy run around and out class the bigger guy. Opening where, try and catch him, head move aways from any attempt to feint, attack, and set him up.
The bigger guy went down with a perfect timed shot, a bit too fast and outclassed, as to protecting his chin, there are other targets he also has to protect, he was so busy trying to figure out how to land a blow, that he got caught by skills and not luck.

Joe you seem to be defending the smaller 140lb guys, and saying the bigger guys have less skill and speed, they have weight category`s in boxing for a reason you know.

It is not as simple as saying the super fast 9 stone 5 foot 7 guy is faster and the 225 lb guy is a bit slower that will dertermine what will happen, no matter how many snappy punches he throws..

Crocop is very fast, his kicks and punches are very powerful , impact is just weight and speed (it dosnt matter how powerful the cars engine is when it hits another car, its how fast its moving AND how HEAVY it is so you can see weight plays a factor),

The cheetah is the fastest, probably the most timing and elegant orinated cat in the jungle, but it will get destroyed if it ever tried to take on a lion.

Intelligence playes a big role as you say, but Crocop the faster more athletic with better timing of kicks etc fighter lost against Fedor the larger more intellegent but slower fighter that is Fedor.

It is not just "I see opening I punch I am faster I win"... a fight can get ugly it can get close and to the ground (if your oppenent wishes), it is not tick for tack.
