Just a question for the instructors of JKD, I am interested in studying JKD. I am currently studying Krav Maga for about a year and half. I just looked up some moves from an other JKD website and done some light research on this form. I found it amazing that many of the techniques and philosphies are very similar to KM. I was wondering if training in JKD part time, as I want my KM training to be my primary art, would it be too diffrent for me to grasp. I don't have a JKD training center that is near me and right now I can't go and look at this one place as my schedule does not permit it. For example there is one move called a pendulum kick that is similar to the one we do in KM, I was blown away how similar many of the moves are. The diffrence being alot of the hand positions in JKD are VERY diffrent, which is my main concern. Primarly I am looking are this training place http://www.authenticbeladiri.com/jkd.htm , too expensive for me right now to train only 2 days a week! If anyone has experiences with good JKD instructors in the San Francisco East Bay area, or even in SF.

hmm. i suggest you wait for some seminars to come your way. that way, you can save up money in advance.
As an FYI JKD is "strong side forward". Meaning that if you are a lefty you will stand with your left foot/ hand to the front. May make taking another stand up art at the same time tough.

HI there! I think Tommy Gong used to have JKD classes in San Francisco. I am not sure if he still does that though.
